With second year of Uni about to commence I wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on what a great summer I’ve had. As well as gaining work experience, catching up with old friends and returning to my part-time job I’ve also been lucky to travel to some amazing places.

My first trip of the summer was to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. This was a family holiday and we stayed in a little village just outside of Sorrento. This was a great location as we were able to get the train to key locations like Pompei and Naples (both of which we visited) as well as using the bus and boat routes in Sorrento to explore the coast. A quick break to Valencia

After just getting back from a few days in the Spanish sunshine, I feel positive about the future. While this was just a quick trip away with my family, it opened my eyes to cultural variation and potential opportunities in cities across Europe. Even the smallest things, from the times Spanish people eat their meals to the food markets, where every Valencian citizen seemed to do their weekly shop; really did highlight to me how different the culture is to London. After recently getting back from 3 nights in the Big Apple, I thought I’d take the opportunity to share my itinerary for anyone planning their own trip to this great city. Before travelling to NY, I was apprehensive that 3 nights may not be enough time to see all the sights and take in all the amazingness the city had to offer.
